As professionals ourselves – in a client-service business – we understand that there is one thing that matters above all else: our reputation.
When other professionals and firms turn to us for help, we know that the same things matter to them. And so, we resolutely defend claims against professionals with a goal of obtaining the most favorable conclusion, as quickly and efficiently as possible. That way, our clients can refocus attention on their own clients and businesses.
Our firm is experienced in all aspects of professional liability, which includes:
- Conflict avoidance through mediation and arbitration
- Representation in actual or threatened litigation
- Representation in professional licensing and disciplinary proceedings
Our extensive background in working with law and accounting firms and their professional liability insurance providers enables us to facilitate a strong defense and achieve a prompt, yet fair, resolution of even the most complex cases. Our professional liability group also possesses experience defending collection professionals and others sued under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and their state law equivalents. We represent real estate brokers/agents, insurance brokers/agents, as well as design/construction professionals such as architects, engineers and surveyors. We also possess extensive experience in handling complex litigation, arbitration, including class actions under Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 23, as well as defending state and federal agency investigations.
The Professional Liability team is headed by Gregg S. Weinberg and Rick Anderson. Mr. Weinberg is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and he is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and Board of Directors for Houston Chapter of National Board of Trial Advocacy.
